Mid-Isle Soccer Club's Upper Island Soccer Association (UISA) League teams, the Mid-Isle Highlanders, play every Sunday; the season starts in September. The UISA League is considered "Tier 3" soccer, a competitive level above House League but below the Tier 2 Vancouver Island Premier League (VIPL). At the end of regular season play, teams participate in the Upper Island "B-Cup Playdowns" in pursuit of a spot in the Coastal Cup in April, as well as the Provincial Cup in July. Opposition teams in the UISA League come from the Comox Valley, Campbell River, Nanaimo, Powell River, and Port Alberni. Each spring, the Mid-Isle Club holds evaluation sessions for incoming Under-12 and Under-13 players, and occasionally fields teams at older divisions if there are enough interested players.
At the recent Saanich FC Jamboree tournament, the U13 Girls UISA League Team went undefeated, posting four consecutive shutouts!
Congratulations to Coach Kathleen Nicholls, and well done, Ladies! You're our Team of the Month!
